Focus Enhancements to roll out new mobile TV encoder chip

Samples of Focus Enhancements’ new mobile TV encoder chip, the FS471/FS472, designed for battery-operated mobile media devices and with less than 130mW for one CVBS TV-out, are now available.

Featuring less than 5µA current draw in sleep mode, the FS471/FS472 is nearly 50 percent smaller than the company's previously available TV-out encoder chips. It provides flexible scaling of video input resolutions from 220 x 176 to 1366 x 768, a JTAG interface, advanced 2-D scaling and flicker filter, and Macrovision 7.1L1 copy protection (FS472). It is available in a 5mm x 5mm lead-free ball grid array package.
