ENENSYS debuts DVB-H mobile TV transcoder

ENENSYS at last month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona unveiled TransCaster, a mobile TV transcoder targeting DVB-H transmission.

TransCaster receives an IP or DVB-S/S2 satellite signal in input and repurposes compressed video content originally produced for television to fit on a mobile screen. It is fully interoperable with most handsets on the market. With a transcoding capability of one or more channels to H.264 within the same unit, TransCaster can be integrated smoothly within SNMP-supervised redundancy systems. Other ENENSYS DVB-H products include the MobiMux DVB-H IP encapsulator, a SFN adapter, IP gateways for compressed video distribution from headend to transmission sites and DVB-H exciters.
