EGT launches DSP-based DVB-ASI/IP encoder

EGT has launched the EGT Professional Video Encoder, which delivers DVB-Asynchronous Serial Interface/Internet Protocol (DVB-ASI/IP) video using up to 30 percent less bandwidth than other digital video encoders.

Built on a digital signal processor (DSP) platform, this programmable MPEG-2 encoder incorporates advanced video algorithms.

The DSP core enables EGT to offer operators easy access to new features and functions through fast software updates, and provides a simple transition to future HD and AVC compatibility.
