Crystal Vision to unveil converter with synchronizer

At NAB2007, Crystal Vision will unveil the Up-and-down-S up/down/crossconverter with on-board synchronizer.

With the Up-and-down-S, a broadcast engineer can connect any SDI, 720p HD or 1080i HD signal and it will emerge with the correct timing. The synchronizer is upstream of the format converter with the signal passing through the synchronizer before it is scaled. This protects the scaler from signal disturbance caused by switches. Up-and-down-S takes its timing from either HD tri-level or SD analog syncs.

Upconversions are SD to 720p and 1080i at both 50Hz and 59.94Hz. Downconversions are 720p and 1080i to SD at 50Hz and 59.94Hz, while crossconversions are 720p to 1080i and 1080i to 720p.
