CPC to showcase software encoder for closed captioning

At NAB2007, CPC will feature its CaptionMaker 700-NLE (for Windows) and MacCaption (for Macintosh) closed caption software encoders, which cut the cost of captioning videos, improve captioning workflow and enhance the quality of captioned video.

Most post production today is done on NLE computers; however, captioning previously required video to be transferred from the computer onto tape, so it could be encoded by a hardware caption encoder. The hardware encoder, in turn, worked with videotape machines and could be a bottleneck in the captioning workflow.

CPC's software encoders simplify the process by allowing the encoding to be done on the computer, eliminating the need for videotape.

See CPC in NAB booth C9436 or visit www.cpcweb.com.
