Cisco, Kreatel, Latens, TANDBERG show end-to-end IPTV video delivery

TANDBERG demonstrated its live TV-over-IP system technology at IBC2004.

The IP system featured specialized IP content protection from Latens and set-top boxes from Kreatel working in tandem with TANDBERG Television’s iTTV delivery platform and integrated portal. A live fiber feed from TANDBERG Television’s stand delivered real-time TV over IP to Cisco System’s stand using Cisco’s network infrastructure, and simulating the broadband experience from video head-end to the home.

At the heart of the showcase was TANDBERG Television’s carrier-class iTTV delivery platform, an open, integrated, revenue-generating broadband IP delivery platform.

Demonstrations included streaming live video and VOD services over MPEG-2. The exhibition also showed the dramatic bit-rate improvements realized when deploying broadband IP delivery over advanced compression systems for MPEG-4 part 10 and Windows Media 9.
