Avocent HMX 1050 delivers hardware-based extension

The Avocent HMX 1050 digital workstation extender provides hardware-based digital desktop extension of video, keyboard, mouse, USB mass storage and audio signals.

The HMX 1050 allows users to back-rack digital workstations without impacting user operations. The HMX 1050 extender consists of a computer node and user node interconnected in a point-to-point configuration at GigE rates using IP protocols over a single UTP cable.

The HMX 1050 digital workstation extender meets the needs of rich digital content applications, including high-resolution video, deep color depth, responsiveness, CD-quality audio and compatibility with a wide range of user interface devices.

The Avocent HMX 1050 extender removes the requirement for conditioned power in the edit suite and reduces ambient noise in creative spaces, such as an edit suite or control room.
