Kaltman Creations introduces Invisible Waves spectrum analyzers
At the recent InfoComm show in Las Vegas, Kaltman Creations introduced Invisible Waves, a new series of PC-based RF spectrum analyzers specifically designed for the pro audio and video industries. Available in various frequency ranges, these new analyzers offer automatic charting of open white space (open RF frequency) for use with wireless microphones, in-ear monitors, remote control, etc.
The first in the new series of Kaltman Invisible Waves analyzers is the IW1800. The IW1800 covers frequencies of 100KHz-1.8GHz, making it ideal for VHF and UHF analysis and extending into the lower gigahertz ranges.
Future Invisible Waves models will include the IW4000, which will cover the span of 100kHz to 4GHz; and the IW7000, which extends its analysis all the way out to 7GHz. Resolution bandwidth (RBW) in all models is 1kHz with a typical sensitivity of -120dbm, which places the Kaltman Invisible Waves RF spectrum analyzers competitive with top hardware-based products.
“Working with our independent software developer, Nuts About Nets, we were able to bring together both custom-designed and off-the-shelf RF components with groundbreaking, yet user-friendly, PC software. The end result was an affordable, audio engineer-friendly, PC-based RF analyzer kit that competes with high-priced, top-of-the-line RF spectrum analyzers,” said Mark Kaltman, company president.
The Invisible Waves analyzers meet those requirements with an automatic white space finder that identifies all open RF space within a user-defined range. The white space finder graphically depicts the ideal transmitter positioning within the open space. The analyzers also offer sweep analysis, including the ability to split the display into simultaneous broad span sweeps, and a zoomed-in view. Spectral image printout capability and extended logging and playback capabilities fill out the feature set.
Invisible Wave analyzer kits include an integral rechargeable battery pack, AC adapter/charger, multiple antennas and a USB-to-PC connection, all enclosed in a laptop-sized, high-impact carrying case.
