NAB Show: Hitachi to Unveil Portable HD Studio EFP Camera
3/25/2009

Hitachi Z-HD5000

Hitachi says it plans to use The NAB Show in Las Vegas (April 20–23) to show off its new portable (and dockable) combined HD studio-and-EFP camera (model Z-HD5000) which will include native scan in 1080/60 or 1080/50, at Booth C4310.

The Z-HD5000 will be the first HD camera in the company's new Z Series product line. The equipment for inspection at the show will be a fully functional prototype model, the firm said.

The camera is designed to provide high-light sensitivity and low vertical smear. It includes three 2/3-inch native 1080i CCD sensors, produces 800 TVL of resolution, F10 at 2000 Lux, and maintains an HD SNR (Signal to Noise) level of 58 dB. (These specs compare favorably with Hitachi's higher-end SK-HD1000 models, it says.)

The Z-HD5000 also will provide the ability to lock-scan video to images from asynchronous computer monitors or projectors without flicker, and will include 12-Vector and Linear Matrix masking for hue and saturation levels.

Hitachi plans to begin deliveries of the Z-HD5000 in August.
