Kyle Reeves of My Town TV in Searcy, Ark., has been elected president of the Community Broadcasters Association, the trade association for Class A and Low-Power TV broadcasters.

Remaining as CBA officers are Greg Herman of WatchTV Inc. in Portland, Ore. (vice president for technology), Amy Brown of Dallas (executive director and secretary) and Ron Bruno of WBGN-TV in Pittsburgh (the outgoing president, now treasurer).

CBA also added four new members to the Board of Directors. They are former Louisiana State Representative Woody Jenkins of Great Oaks Broadcasting Co. in Baton Rouge, La.; Cesar Rincon of Lotus Communication’s TV Informa 43, KHLM-LP in Houston; Kevin Mosesian of Cocola Broadcasting in Fresno, Calif; Christopher Blair of SynCom Media Group Inc. in Westminster, Colo.; and John Salov of Local HDTV Inc. and ColTrace Communications Inc. in Jackson, Mich.

CBA members elected the officers at the group’s annual convention this week in Las Vegas.

“I accept this privilege, firmly focused on achieving tangible results that will create necessary regulatory changes to establish a stable platform upon which we may build a vibrant future for the many small businesses such as mine as well as the countless diverse owners and operators represented by all Class A and LPTV stations,” Reeves said in a statement.

He outlined the organization’s plan for two crucial components: the migration of qualified Class A stations to full power status, and a timely and realistic package of solutions to aid in the transition of all LPTV and Class A stations to digital operations.

The first issue was scheduled for a vote at the FCC’s Oct. 15 meeting, but was canceled the previous afternoon when FCC Chairman Kevin Martin realized he didn’t have the votes for his proposal.

The second issue, the digital transition, could be helped along by $65 in grant money coming through the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, which is seeking comment until Nov. 14 on how to manage those funds.
