Maryland Public TV Installs Calrec Hydra Network
Maryland Public Television has installed a Calrec
Hydra network at its broadcast station in its upgrade from an analog to digital facility.
The public TV station in Owings Mill, Md. installed two 56 channel Alpha consoles in 2002, and will use the Hydra network to share audio content across the boards.
"Hydra makes it easy to route resources to and from multiple studios via a single control room so that a show may have an interview set in one studio and a performance area in another," said Jim Bigwood, MPT audio supervisor.
MPT produces live-to-air and live-to-tape programs nearly seven days a week and also provides its live studio facilities to PBS, CBS, ABC, Fox News, ESPN and more.
