Dell's Unveils 26-inch LCD HD with Philips Input
Computer maker Dell has introduced a new 26-inch HD LCD monitor (model W2607C, a successor to its W2600 and W2606C units. The new unit’s specs and performance markers include 600:1 contrast ratio, 500cd/m2 brightness, a 1366 x 768 panel, and an 89-degree viewing angle--along with an integrated ATSC tuner.
Dell recently selected the Philips Nexperia TV810 semiconductor reference design for the W2607C. According to both companies, the Nexperia scheme enables state-of-the art picture quality in analog and DTV signals, along with advanced connectivity features for easy connections to virtually all audio/video and PC products--including game consoles, DVRs, Microsoft Media Center PCs, and (not yet obtainable) Blu-ray DVD players.
The relatively high number of inputs (especially for its size and lower-end price points) includes three composite ins, two S-Video, two component, two analog coax, DVI, and VGA. According to published reports, MSRP reportedly is under $1,200.
