Broadcast Pix Studio Adds Control of Sony Cameras
8/26/2005

Broadcast Pix has announced new software that enables its systems to remotely control Sony cameras, including the popular BRC-300. For the cost of a switcher, a Broadcast Pix Studio is an integrated live video production system, comprised of a switcher, character generator, clip store, still store, logo generator, three DVEs and both digital and analog I/O. Now a single operator can control all this plus up to seven Sony cameras. All camera functions can be controlled: tilt, pan, zoom, focus, iris, preset positions, speed control and all CCU settings. When a team of operators is still wanted, soft panels can be networked in both locally and a continent away. Broadcast Pix systems already control Hitachi cameras, and the new software to control the Sony VISCA protocol is available now. It will be demonstrated at IBC in Amsterdam (stand 9.231).

Broadcast Pix has also shipped its 100th Broadcast Pix Studio system, which was sold by Snader and Associates, to technology giant Hewlett-Packard in Cupertino, California.
