TVB Links with China Netcom, PCCW for Games

Telecommunications services provider China Netcom and PCCW Global will provide high-definition Olympic programming to Hong Kong-based television company TVB.

Under a strategic agreement signed by the three companies China Netcom and PCCW Global will provide a high-definition multimedia service to TVB, allowing for two-way transmission of television signals between Beijing and Hong Kong. Optical fibre and satellite transmission services, as well as double-end high-definition video transmission equipment, will be used.

TVB will also receive 24-hour support in Hong Kong to ensure the quality and stability of video transmission during the Games.
