Autoscript Showcases New TFT Prompter Screens

April 25, 2008

At NAB, Autoscript demonstrated its new line of thin film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display screens, developed in collaboration with control card manufacturer Digital View Group. The new TFT screens feature LED backlit displays for less weight, less power consumption and less heat generation. The Digital View card supports advanced service diagnostics and other display details.

Autoscript unveiled a new range of hood and glass assemblies to compliment the new range of TFT screens. The new Standard Hood and XWA Hoods offer quick cleaning and glass replacement. The +Tally-Plus+ numbered cue light can now be mounted above the lens, enabling +Clock-Plus+ to be used in conjunction with a variety of applications.

Autoscript showcased the ELP-8DV, a field-portable prompting system that mounts directly on a tripod and works with smaller cameras. Integrated with a Sachtler DV head and camera plate, the ELP-8DV is powered by the same 7.2 V Sachtler battery pack as the camera.

Autoscript also showed the Go-Prompt 8 (GP-8), a high-brightness unit in the Go-Prompt range of prompters. The GP-8 accepts Word, RTF and text-only files, loaded simply by inserting a USB drive. Presenter settings and font sizes are configured through the on-screen menu. All languages are supported through Unicode. A wireless control selects the files prompted and the speed of the text.

Autoscript also exhibited its VoicePlus voice-activated prompting system, developed in conjunction with subtitling and captioning provider Sysmedia and designed as an add-on to Autoscript’s WinPlus software.
