| AJA Unwraps Four New Mini Converter Products |

AJA Video Systems is releasing four new mini converters, the 3GM, 3GDA, HD10CEA and HA5 at the NAB Show. Designed for both broadcast and post production, the converters support the latest video and audio formats.
The 3GM bidirectional tool interconnects dual-link 1.5 Gbps SMPTE 372M and 3 Gbps SMPTE 425M, allowing for conversion of dual-link 1.5 Gbps-to-3 Gbps or 3 Gbps-to-dual-link 1.5 Gbps. The 3 Gbps HD-SDI output is configurable for SMPTE 425M type A or B, and it can convert 3 Gbps signals from or to type A or B. 3GM further provides an “always-on” monitor output, a single link 1.5 Gbps HD-SDI. The 3GM is compatible with SMPTE 259M 270 Mbps SDI.
The 3GDA is a miniature, low-cost 1x6 3 Gbps HD-SDI/HD-SDI/SDI re-clocking distribution amplifier. Featuring six separately buffered outputs, the 3GDA offers automatic input detection, re-clocking and cable equalization.
The HD10CEA converts SDI/HD-SDI video with embedded audio to analog video and 4-channel balanced analog audio plus two loop-thru SDI/HD-SDI outputs. SD inputs are converted to Y/Pb/Pr (Betacam or SMPTE/EBU-N10), or RGB, or composite/YC (S-Video). HD inputs are converted to Y/Pb/Pr or RGB. Dipswitches select the video/audio configuration.
The HA5 converts HDMI to SDI/HD-SDI with up to eight channels of HDMI audio embedded into the SDI/HD-SDI output, allowing a single cable audio/video connection. The HA5 provides two SDI/HD-SDI outputs and supports long HDMI cables on the input. The HA5 can connect HDMI cameras to SDI/HD-SDI equipment.
