At NAB, Streambox will release a fully ruggedized version of its Portable Video Transport system for mobile newsgathering, emergency response, and armed forces operations. The encoder can handle extreme temperatures as well as adverse weather and rough handling.
The rugged video transport system uses the Streambox ACT-L3 codec and advanced compression technologies. The system is supplied with a sturdy carrying handle and features an extended battery life. The unit measures 1.98 inches by 11.8 inches by 9.65 inches and weighs 6.8 lbs.
Also new is the Streambox Mobile Software Encoding solution for video streaming of breaking news and events over broadband. It features the Streambox ACT-L3 proprietary compression technology and extends the newsgathering capabilities of broadcasters, first responders, and citizen reporters to deliver live breaking news to the newsroom faster while empowering video portals and social networking sites.
A software-based solution ported to a variety of mobile devices, the Streambox Mobile Software Encoder transports broadcast video over Wi-Fi and 3G networks for real-time as well as store-and-forward news coverage.
Streambox will also display the SBT3-7500 and SBT3-9100 HD video transport solutions as well as the ACT-L3 Portable Newsgathering System.
Streambox will be at Booth SU15515.
