SES Americom filed an application requesting extension until Dec. 31, 2010 of its authority to operate C-band satellite Satcom C-3 at 79.05 degrees west longitude (WL). EchoStar requested renewal of its special temporary authority to operate EchoStar 6 at 110.4 degrees WL for an additional 180 days. From FCC Report SAT-00516.
The FCC granted EchoStar’s request to withdraw its application for STA to operate EchoStar 6 as a U.S.-licensed satellite at 77 degrees WL. The FCC also said it took the administrative action of listing the request from EchoStar to continue operating EchoStar 6 at its current location as granted. ICO Satellite Services GP filed a motion to withdraw an application filed in November 2007 to modify its 2 GHz MSS spectrum reservation. FCC Report SAT-00515 said, “The application for modification requested blanket authority to construct and operate base station facilities for an ancillary terrestrial component (ATC). New ICO requests withdrawal of the application for reasons of administrative convenience, in view of the fact that it is requesting ATC authority in another pending application in which it also requests blanket authority for mobile terminal operation.”
