Harris Names VPs for Software Systems, Servers and News

January 18, 2008

Harris Broadcast Communications has named two new vice presidents. Paul Eisner is the new vice president for servers and news for the Harris digital media business and P. Harris Morris has the newly created position of vice president of software systems.

In this new role, Eisner will oversee the strategic direction, development and operational execution of Harris server and newsroom solutions. He will oversee a team of engineers and marketing staff and will be based in Northridge, Calif.

Eisner previously served as Harris vice president of product marketing for video processing and distribution products. Under his leadership, the business substantially increased revenues, profitability and market share. Eisner and his team were responsible for the planning and execution of major new product introductions for video processing, routing, master control, branding and multisource display processing solutions, including a variety of high-definition products, the company said.

"Paul has built a reputation with customers and within Harris for introducing successful new products and platforms to serve both existing and new markets," said Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications. "He has been a large part of Harris' significant growth in recent years, and his experience and success made him an ideal choice to lead our server and news business. Moving one of our top business leaders into this new role underscores our commitment to continue the rapid growth of our servers and news business over the past year."

Eisner moves into his new position with 17 years of product development, sales and marketing experience including six years within Harris and the former Leitch Technology business that Harris acquired in 2005. An industry veteran, he has a diverse background including senior leadership positions in wireless broadband, new media advertising and
telecommunications markets.

Morris will be responsible for the software, server, newsroom and editing businesses that manage digital media workflow for global broadcast and other media customers.

He had been chief strategy officer for the Thomson Learning Division of Thomson Corp. Previously, he was a partner and vice president of Bain & Co., a global business consulting firm.

He will "build on our strategies to expand addressable markets and focus product development efforts that allow us to offer more comprehensive solutions to our customers," said Thorsteinson.

Morris will be based in Denver.
