Tandberg Television VOD Systems in China
Tandberg Television has announced that its OpenStream Digital Services Platform is being deployed by its business partner Star Communication Network Technology Co. Ltd for three regional cable operators in China. The Tandberg systems will enable the introduction of on-demand television services in Shandong province, Gansu province and Yangquan city by the summer of 2008.

The deployments extend Tandberg Television's presence in China and its partnership with Star Communications who will carry out all systems integration and operational deployment of the systems. Star Communication has been providing integration support for Tandberg Television's OpenStream back office for two years and in 2007 deployed its first VOD system in the city of Datong.

"The market for on-demand video services is set to grow in China as cable operators seek ways to offer a more personalized television experience to their customers. By working with integration experts Star Communications we are able to provide our industry leading OpenStream VOD system backed by local expertise and knowledge," says Geng Liang, General Manager of TANDBERG Television China.
