Sí TV to Launch HD Channel on Verizon FiOS
Sí TV plans to ramp up what it says will be the first HD channel targeted specifically to advertiser-favored young American Hispanic viewers. Sí TV-HD will launch on a still-unspecified date in 2008 and offer programming fare geared primarily to the 18-34 year-old "bilingual and English-dominant Latino," said the network.

The HD outlet will be a 24/7 operation based in Los Angeles and include what Sí TV says will be "high energy shows" covering music, reality, comedy and an array of other themes for young viewers. Sí TV began producing HD content back in 2004, and said it now has more than 200 hours of original HD programming to air.

Verizon FiOS TV has already signed on to carry the HD channel. The telco's fiber optic service currently operates in nearly a dozen states and now carries Sí TV's SD channel. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. Latino population is now the largest and fastest-growing minority ethnic group in the United States.
