New FCC Web Site Deals with Environmental and Historical Preservation Issues
The FCC announced the launch of a new Web site dedicated exclusively to environmental and historical preservation issues -- www.fcc.gov/cgb/environment/. FCC Chairman Michael Powell explained the purpose of site: "The Commission must manage the expansion of communications infrastructure in a way that best preserves our Nation's environmental and historic resources. Enhanced electronic access to resources at the Commission and throughout the government should improve public and industry awareness about environmental and historic preservation activities."

The site serves as a portal for FCC releases and web pages covering issues related to the environment and historical preservation. There are also links to related Web sites of other government agencies and associations.
