ND SatCom Strengthens Broadcast Business in the Middle East
ND SatCom, an SES ASTRA company, announced today that SES acquired a stake in Glocom, a Dubai-based system integrator and equipment supplier for turnkey digital broadcasting solutions. Zahid Mirza, founder and President of Glocom, remains co-shareholder and continues in his position as CEO.

ND SatCom has strongly increased its revenues outside Europe, of which roughly 15% are generated in the fast growing Middle East and Africa region. Dr. Karl Classen, President & CEO of ND SatCom, states that the investment is an excellent opportunity to strengthen ND SatCom's broadcast & media business in the Middle East and Africa: "Glocom is an established player in the United Arab Emirates and has implemented a large number of turnkey broadcasting solutions for major broadcasters in the Middle East and Africa. The acquisition allows us to expand our local system integration skills along our value chain in the digital broadcasting and uplink domains and adds a competitive capability for SES in this region."
