National Spectrum Managers Association Meeting Looks at New Technology
The National Spectrum Managers Association (NMSA) is meeting at the Holiday Inn Westpark Hotel in Rosslyn, Va. Tuesday and Wednesday, May 18 and 19. The conference is open to the public. Bryan Tramont, FCC Chief of Staff, will deliver the keynote address. The conference will look at FCC proceedings on the "interference temperature" model" for managing the RF environment and the proposed use of satellite earth stations onboard vessels. Technical presentations include ultra-wideband interference measurements and millimeter wave engineering with rain cell modeling.

"Spectrum Management 2004 will focus on critical spectrum management issues such as interference temperature and ESV FCC proposals and RF engineering, and will include presentations by the industry's top policymakers and industry experts," said Jim Wolfson, NMSA president. "Attendees can expect to hear the latest on spectrum policy from the FCC, discussions on what the spectrum 'hot topics' are from key stakeholders, and the latest in wireless technology and engineering techniques from leading experts in the field. With the demand for spectral resources reaching an all time high, this conference will shed light on the industry's best practices for mitigating interference, supporting new technologies and engineering fully optimized networks. I expect it to be a most interesting and insightful conference."
