Mitsubishi Ramps Up 'Edgy' 1080p LCD Models
Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America is currently unveiling eight 1080p LCD HD models with some of the slimmest frame edges and ultra-compact designs available on the market, the firm said. All its new 1080p flat-panel units were "designed, engineered, and built in North America," according to a company statement.

As part of its 133 and 144 series (and model LT-40134), Mitsubishi said its 40-, 46- and 52-inch panels provide hidden speakers and screen-securing edges, or frames, that are only about 1-inch wide to provide "more picture in a smaller space" than typical LCD models now on the market. For example, its 40-inch (diagonal) model is 37 inches wide and about 24 inches in height (without a base).

Most of the new 1080p units come in platinum black with platinum metallic accenting.
