Iogear Intros 4-Port HD HDMI Switch
Iogear said this week it will unveil an automatic HDMI switch that permits users to simultaneously control as many as four HD Multimedia Interface devices connected to an HD monitor using the firm's technology--dubbed High-Definition Automatic Switch--which locks and transfers active audio/video content.

For a home entertainment center, the company said users can use a single universal remote to control all functions by powering on a desired device and then alternate, when necessary, between various devices, according to HDTV Origin.

A single HDMI cable connects an HD unit with a switch, which in turn, can connect up to four DVD players, video game consoles, and/or other devices. The reduction in the necessary wiring is especially suited to wall-mounted HD monitors, Iogear said.
