IBC2007: Alfacam to Equip HD Trucks With Grass Valley Units
Alfacam, a mobile TV production facilities provider, said last week it will order enough new Grass Valley HD equipment to equip nearly a dozen new HD broadcast trucks to grow its ongoing commitment to Thomson.

Grass Valley’s Kayak production switcher will be part of the standard equipment on each of the 10 mobile broadcast facilities under construction, Alfacam said.

Alfacam has already been using Grass Valley LDK 6000 HD cameras; this new order announced at IBC2007 in Amsterdam will grow its fleet hardware by an additional 144 LDK 8000 cameras.

Based in Lint, Belgium, Alfacam said it current broadcast truck fleet is typically deployed throughout most of Europe and beyond—including having supplied HD facilities for the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro. Alfacam’s sister firm, Euro1080, had helped launched some of the first HD channels in Western Europe.
