HD Movie Accepted at Dallas Video Festival
The HD motion picture "Closing Escrow," described as a comedy about real estate, recently was granted entry into the Dallas Video Festival, reportedly the largest video event of its kind in the nation. Various key personnel involved in the production of "Closing Escrow" have been contributing blogs detailing their experiences for HD Notebook readers, over the course of several months.

Randall Dark, a widely recognized HD pioneer, served as executive producer for the new film, after convincing its director, Armen Kaprelian, to shoot the first feature film entirely in HD.

Bart Weiss, director of the Dallas Video Festival, said, "In a time when HD is reaching the low-budget-indie masses and people are buying HD televisions at home, a new feature [film] from this technology-advanced team helps move the aesthetic further." Weiss said he's seen a significant increase in HD submissions in the past few years, estimated to be 15-20 percent. He forecasts that number will jump significantly to about to 40 percent this year.

"Closing Escrow" was shot using 62 Maxell HDCAM tapes and three Maxell D-5 tapes. The film centers on three quirky families seeking to buy their next home. The Dallas Video Festival will be held Aug. 8-13 at the Dallas Theater Center and other area venues.
