Funai Set-Top Boxes Revisited
I received several email messages concerning my article last week on the Funai set-top box with "Smart Antenna" technology. In the article, I said "This may be Funai's first ATSC set-top box" based on not seeing any set-top boxes listed on the Funai Web site. Several readers let me know they owned Funai set-top boxes sold at Sears under the Sylvania name brand. The Funai brands Web site has details on the Sylvania set-top boxes. It also references a model DTA-3500 "DX Multi-directional Antenna" that looks like it could be the basis for Funai's smart antenna.

Details on the DTA-3500 can be found on the DX Antenna web site. Refer to the DTA-3500 PDF brochure for complete specifications.

Thanks to the readers that took the time to update me on the Funai STBs!
