FCC Pulling 'DT' Call Sign Suffixes
After June 12, the FCC will delete the “-DT” appendage from DTV station call signs unless the licensees file an application requesting calls with the “-DT” suffix using the FCC call sign authorization and reservation system.

Stations that previously had a “-TV” suffix on their analog call sign to distinguish it from a call shared with an AM or FM outlet will revert to that “-TV” designation unless they file for “-DT” instead. When identifying, these stations must use the FCC assigned “-TV” call sign, unless they’ve obtained permission to use a “-DT” suffix.

More information is available in FCC Public Notice DA 09-1253.
