Embedded.com Article Examines Mobile TV Receiver Design
While searching for RF news of interest I came across Lionel Federspiel’s article Product How-To: Dealing with the mobile TV design challenge.

While the focus of the article is how Infineon Technologies’ OmniVia TUS9090 mobile TV silicon tuner and demodulator works in the difficult mobile TV environment, it also provides some insight into the challenges of mobile TV reception. These include deep and fast signal fading, wide frequency range and weak signals.

The TUS9090 supports VHF, UHF and L-band reception of DVB-T and DVB-H signals. It will be interesting to see if Infineon adds ATSC M/H capability in future designs.
