DTV Station Status per FCC CDBS - July 19, 2003:
LICENSED (LIC): 377 (+7)
CP Modification (CP MOD) 339 (+4)
STA (All variations) 788 (+19)
STA (Modifications) 49
APPLICATIONS (minus rulemaking) 234

Rule making - Digital channel changes
GRANTS 122 (-0-)

(Change from July 5, 2003 listing)

Note: The total will be greater than the number of DTV stations as some stations have both licenses, construction permits and applications on file. Jay Martin at Dielectric pointed out that some of the STA listings are modifications on existing authorizations. I added a count of STA modifications (BMDSTA file prefix) to the list. Subtracting this number from the number in STA (All variations) will give a more accurate indication of the number of DTV stations operating under STA. I also added a count of the pending applications, excluding the rule making applications listed separately.

A spreadsheet showing all current DTV entries in the FCC CDBS TV engineering database files dated July 19, 2003 is available from www.xmtr.com/fcc/dt030719.zip. The entire TV engineering database extracted from the CDBS is available from a link on my Web site at www.transmitter.com. The updated spreadsheets will be available on line late Monday.
