Deadlines for Advanced Wireless Services NPRM Comments Extended
The deadline for filing reply comments on the Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) has been extended from Jan. 24, 2005 to Feb. 8, 2005. This NPRM deals with the service rules for AWS in the 1915-1920 MHz, 1995-2000 MHz, 2020-2025 MHz, and 2175-2180 MHz bands. Some of this spectrum has been reallocated from the broadcast auxiliary service to AWS. In the Order (DA-05-130) extending the deadline, the FCC stated, "We find that it is in the interest of compiling a complete record on the complex technical issues involved in this proceeding to briefly extend the reply comment period to enable interested parties sufficient time to analyze further the technical studies and respond meaningfully." CTIA, the Wireless Association and TerreStar Networks requested the extension.
