Canada: Daytek Adds 40-Inch LCD HD
Daytek Electronics had added a 40-inch LCD HD set to its line of flat-panel monitors, following the introduction to the Canadian market a few months ago of its 32-inch model. As in the United States, LCDs and plasma are beginning to outsell traditional CRT units in Canada.

The 40-inch model from Daytek features a panel with 1366 x 768 pixels, 800:1 contrast, and 500 CD/M2 brightness. It can display 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i signals, and the company says it supports YPbPr and DVI-HDCP. (S-Video, composite video and D-Sub are also available.)

Surround sound is standard with the 40-inch unit. It comes with an MSRP of $3,100 from Daytek, which is based in Delta, British Columbia.
