HD Expo and 'VariCamp' Workshops Set for Los Angeles, Chicago

HD Expo of Burbank, Calif., will conduct an HD Expo on May 17 at the Film Row Cinema Complex at Columbia College in Los Angeles. A VariCamp Workshop will be held May 20-22 at Resolution Digital Studio in Chicago.
The HD Expo is a one-day meeting of the minds for the production, entertainment and advertising communities to share ideas and new technology. The VariCamp is a three-day intensive workshop designed for photographers and cinematographers, based on using the Panasonic VariCam HD Camera. The workshop includes lectures, a hands-on, and labs on color, density and motion. The workshop faculty includes Bob Primes (ASC), Michael Caporale, Matt Siegel, Ryan Sheridan, C.R. Caillouet Jr. and Gary Adcock.

More than a dozen VariCamp Workshops have been held in the last couple years, developed to encourage the use of HD technology within all areas of production. HD Expo Workshops are also planned this year for Connecticut, Orlando, Chicago and Seattle. Annual sponsors of the workshops have included Fujinon Lenses, IDX, Schneider Optics and Telecast Fiber.
