Asuka Intros 3.5-inch Handheld DTV Receiver
Asuka announced two new products Friday, one of which is a 3.5-inch handheld DTV receiver that displays a 480 x 234 pixel image. It includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack and a built-in telescoping antenna. The device measures approximately 5.3 x 3.3 x 1.4 inches (13.5 x 8.5 x 3.5 centimeters). U.S. viewers looking for a handheld DTV solution are out of luck, as the device only operates with the DVB-T standard.

The second Asuka product is a DVB-T receiver for automotive use. With a thickness of 2.5 cm (approximately one inch) Asuka claims it is the slimmest car-use DVB-T receiver in the world. It includes AV inputs and outputs for integration with other automobile entertainment systems. From the press release in DigiTimes announcing the product, it appears the automotive unit does not include a display.

Asuka is a module solution provider and system design house based in Taiwan.
