‘Taken’ Tops Blu-ray Sales
The latest young-girl-in-peril thriller, “Taken,” topped off the latest Top 10 Blu-ray sales chart—leading an eclectic string of other 1080p disc bestsellers that includes cartoons, PlayStation 3 content, an Italian Western more than 40 years old, James Bond, Batman, Brad Pitt, and a multi-disc set of the original “Star Trek” movies based on the original TV series that carries MSRP of about $140.

And once again as in recent weeks, half of the 10 titles are owned or shared by 20th Century Fox. The Top 10 Blu-ray titles sales for the week ending May 16, according to Rentrak:

1. “Taken” (20th Century Fox)
2. “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” (Sony)
3. “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” (Paramount)
4. “Underworld Trilogy” (Sony)
5. “Quantum of Solace” (MGM/20th Century Fox)
6. “The Dark Knight” (Warner Bros.)
7. “Seth McFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy” (20th Century Fox)
