‘Gran Torino’ Regains Blu-ray Top 10 Lead
It didn’t take long (one week) for the Clint Eastwood vehicle “Gran Torino” to return to the top slot in the Blu-ray Top 10, despite some growing competition from the original “Transformers” movie (this week at no. 3). The “Transformers” sequel (from Paramount) recently was released to theaters in one of the biggest box office openings of all time.

Warner Brothers’ titles filled three of the top four slots. Blu-ray newcomer “Confessions of a Shopaholic” could do no better than the 7th position in the most current sales tally of 1080p movie content.

The Top 10 Blu-ray title sales for the week ending June 27, according to Rentrak:

1. “Gran Tornio” (Warner Bro.)
2. “Inkheart” (Warner Bro.)
3. “Transformers” (Paramount)
4. “Friday the 13th” (2009, Warner Bro.)
5. “Taken” (20th Century Fox)
6. “Ghostbusters” (Sony Pictures)
7. “Confessions of a Shopaholic” (Disney Pictures)
8. “The Pink Panther 2” (MGM/20th Century Fox)
9.” Valkyrie” (20th Century Fox)
10. “Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children” (Sony Pictures)
