WTVO-TV plans multicast with Sundance Digital Automation

Looking to pursue a multicasting strategy for its digital spectrum, ABC affiliate WTVO, in Rockford, IL, has replaced its existing automation system with a Sundance Digital FastBreak automation suite. The station has merged its operations with WQR, its sister Fox outlet, plus a UPN station and is now transmitting three separate channels from the WTVO master control facility.

The Sundance Digital configuration includes the Intelli-Sat Broadcast Manager for the scheduling and recording of satellite feeds, two media prep stations, a SQL server for database management, three air stations and a DDMS (Digital Delivery Management System) module for hands-free integration of Pathfire-delivered content and metadata. The Sundance package will control a Leitch Technology Nexio server and several Evertz mini master control switchers.
