WPSD-TV to modernize news workflow

WPSD-TV, the NBC affiliate in Paducah, KY, is upgrading the creation and management of its news graphics.

The Paxton Media Group station has acquired a Chyron HyperX graphics platform, CAMIO news management system and iSQ remote monitoring and playout application.

WPSD-TV will use the HyperX running Chyron’s Lyric PRO software for its daily news broadcasts. Lyric PRO integrates with Chyron’s interFuse technology to provide WPSD-TV with connectivity and expandability. Using CAMIO to manage news graphics, WPSD-TV journalists will be able to create templated text, images and video graphics on the newsroom client while they write their scripts. The approach gives the news team complete control over the graphics.

According to Mark Hall, station operations director, a key factor in selecting the Chyron approach was the company’s iSQ playout system, which offers simple playlist operation and can be tightly integrated with the station’s ENPS news system and HyperX graphics platform.
