WNET.ORG adds HVS-1500HS production switcher for ‘Worldfocus’ newscast

WNET.ORG in New York City has installed a FOR-A HVS-1500HS HD production switcher for use on the newly launched “Worldfocus” newscast.

The parent company of public TV stations Thirteen and WLIW21, WNET.ORG is also the parent of Creative News Group, producers of the new international newscast that airs weekdays on public TV stations nationwide.

The switcher is part of a new production facility for “Worldfocus,” which is distributed in SD but will be offered to PBS member stations in HD in spring 2009.

The HVS-1500HS offers a DVE capable of real-time 3-D DVE effects with polygonal-based effects where video is wrapped around 3-D shapes. Three types of control panels, including 16- and 24-button as well as rack-mountable 12-button versions, are available. The HVS-1500HS can also accommodate an optional two quad split-screen function.
