VTM displays multi-format HD with Zandar multiviewers

VTM, Belgium’s commercial channel, has installed a series of HDTV Predator MultiViewers from Zandar Technologies as part of an upgrade of its largest studio to multi-format high-definition production.

The Brussels-based digital facility is equipped with a flexible infrastructure that can handle either HD or SD resolutions. The studio equipment was installed by Lines Broadcast Systems, a distributor and systems integrator based in Brussels.

Camera, studio and mixer monitoring is displayed in the control room via the image processing of the Predator MultiViewers. They are 1RU and automatically detect HD and SDI signals for display. The Predator includes reclocked looping inputs to reduce overall system cost, while its DVI-D output can display up to 1920x1080 at 50Hz images.

The broadcaster is also using several Zandar DX Series units that interface with the routers to provide in vision UMD and tally display on each channel.
