Vizrt showcases weather technology in Spain

Vizrt, a vendor of real-time 3-D graphic systems for television, is showing its viz|weather real-time 3-D software during the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology (IABM) exhibition this week in Barcelona, Spain.

Vizrt's new viz|weather real time 3-D software.

The company will display a new version of viz|weather software for the creation and playout of weather-related graphics. Powered by Vizrt’s viz|engine—a real-time 3-D graphics rendering engine, viz|weather provides the ability to control, switch and manipulate weather data and graphics in seconds.

Weather data, such as temperature, wind speeds and direction, weather symbols, 3-D maps, model data, cloud forecast and radar maps can now be displayed automatically with corresponding graphic elements in real-time, using templates created by graphics designers.

Online plug-and-play weather data triggers the graphics which can be shown as either symbols or 3D animation utilizing any feature of viz|engine. With the Particle Generator, the shape and movement of 3D clouds reflect the forecast of each of the cloud’s layers.
