Virage introduces VS Archive

Virage has introduced a new software solution designed to store, categorize, manage, retrieve, and distribute video, audio and other rich media content.

The VS Archive manages all forms of unstructured content from the point of ingestion through archive creation and content access. Autonomy's (Virage's parent company) Intelligent Data Operating Layer powers the VS Archive, which enables video and rich media to be integrated at the center of other enterprise content. Other Autonomy technologies integrated in this release include Dremedia and SoftSound for scene change detection, transcript alignment and advanced audio and speech analysis.

The VS Archive also includes:

  • Web-based interface for organization, assembly, playlist creation and distribution

  • Data export options for XML, Edit Decision Lists and other formats

  • 24/7 operation with real-time information access

  • Collaboration features including sharing or e-mailing content
