Vela offers new HD encoder at NAB2005

Vela will introduce a real-time HD encoder at NAB2005.

The Argus HD features frame-accurate 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 encoding, an HD-SDI input, support for all ATSC standards, embedded audio in an SDI stream and Dolby Digital audio processing. This PCI board simplifies the process of creating and storing HD MPEG streams by eliminating the need for individual products to both create and store the content.

The system is available with Vela’s integrated RecordAdvantage end-user software GUI, a comprehensive set of video management tools. An Application Programming Interface (API) based on the Microsoft Common Object Model (COM) is also available.

The Argus HD encoder, which will be on display at NAB in booth #SL-4401, is the latest addition to Vela’s HD decoder product family, which also includes the new CineView HD Pro decoder with SDI compatibility and the entry-level CineView HD LE decoder DVI signals.
