Transverse to supply back-office solution for new U.S. DBS service

Spectrum Five has selected open-source business solutions provider Transverse to support its launch of nationwide direct broadcast satellite services, including direct-to-home television, rear-seat video and backhaul to cell tower services. Transverse will deploy its blee(p) OSS solution to power the retail and wholesale operations of Spectrum Five.

The foundation of these new services is Spectrum Five’s FCC authorization to operate 500MHz of spectrum in the Ku-band from a new orbital position over the center of the United States.

Spectrum Five's first satellite will provide a national broadcast beam and will concentrate additional bandwidth to more than 50 percent of the population by placing spot beams on the top 20 U.S. cities.
