STATS to offer CFL data, scoring
STATS will operate as the Canadian Football League’s exclusive third-party data licensing partner, the league announced this week.

STATS will have worldwide rights to market, license and distribute CFL data and real-time scoring.

Akimbo to distribute WCSN series via Internet
Internet video-on-demand service provider Akimbo Systems will make World Championship Sports Network’s (WCSN’s) series “World Championship Sports” available for download through the Akimbo Service.
Consumers can access Akimbo through the online spotlight area of Microsoft Media Center Edition PCs.

ESPN plans record college basketball coverage
ESPN's 2006-2007 men's college basketball coverage on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN360, ESPN Regional Television and ESPN FULL COURT will feature about 1000 games.

This year's lineup will set a record for total coverage by the media outlets. During last year’s season, the networks televised a previous high of 884 games.

VitalStream, VirtuPoint to deliver LA Kings to offer online TV
Online content delivery specialist VitalStream Holdings will power the Los Angeles Kings online video portal for the new NHL season with its partner VirtuPoint.

VitalStream and VirtuPoint will broadcast KingsTV at www.lakings.com. KingsTV provides fans with coverage of live events including press conferences, pre-game build-up and post-game interviews.

VirtuPoint will deliver video encoding and production, and VitalStream will provide the content delivery network for all streaming services.

PA SportsTicker, Sportal Australia reach accord
PA SportsTicker's parent company PA Sport has invested in Australian sports Internet and information company Sportal Australia.

This deal means PA SportsTicker users in North America will have access to Sportal Australia's new generation of Web-ready products. In return, Sportal will become the sales agent for PA SportsTicker's U.S. sports content in their home territories of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Crown promotes Potosky, Kellom
Crown International has promoted Scott Potosky to vice president of engineering and Marc Kellom to vice president of marketing.

Potosky has an 18-year tenure with Crown, most recently serving as a product development manager. Kellom has been with Crown since 1994.
