Thales Angenieux to distribute Polecam

Thales Angenieux announced a North American distribution partnership with Polecam, the maker of a single-operator portable jib-arm and broadcast/high definition camera system.

The jib-arm has a 5ft to 20ft reach and weighs up to 50lbs. Polecam can be rigged in 10 minutes and derigged in five with no setup tools, allowing smooth, floating crane shots to be made quickly and efficiently with fast relocation.

The boom is rigged with one to five lightweight carbon-fiber tubes, including an elbow section, which can be used to get up and over obstacles. The rig mounts on a standard lightweight tripod/dolly or on the supplied body harness for complete mobility.

Mounted on an ultra-smooth remote pan and tilt unit is an HD three-chip, 900-line resolution, broadcast quality mini camera that is operated from a joystick on the mast.

Thales Angenieux offers a full complement of lenses for a wide range of broadcast and video production applications.
