Telestream announces FlipFactory v3.1 software release

Telestream also has integrated new MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 codecs from MainConcept into FlipFactory with the v3.1 software release.

Telestream has announced availability of major enhancements for its FlipFactory family of workflow automation applications.

FlipFactory v3.1 software includes support for major new formats and systems. Topping the list is expanded support for the new MXF file interchange format to include both encode and decode for broadcasters. HD encoding for the Windows Media 9 Series format and expanded support for Sony, SeaChange, Omneon, Thomson Grass Valley, Avid, Matrox and IPV systems add even greater value to the entire FlipFactory family.

Telestream also has integrated new MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 codecs from MainConcept into FlipFactory with the v3.1 software release. The new MPEG codecs provide improved performance and will enable future extensions to HD and other MPEG versions.

A new GXF DV50 encoder option provides full support for GXF DV50 and DVC Pro50 encoding and decoding, which broadens FlipFactory support for Thomson Grass Valley server users. A new IPV SpectreView sequence file production and delivery option enables immediate playout from the SpectreView server of all FlipFactory IPV-encoded files.
