Tandberg Launches HD Encoding Platform for MPEG-4 at IBC
Tandberg launched its HD encoding platform at IBC2004. This is the world's first HD encoding platform for MPEG-4 and Windows Media 9, according to Tandberg.

The Tandberg HD Intelligent Compression Engine (ICE) platform is included in the Tandberg EN5980 Windows Media 9 Series HD encoder and the EN5990 MPEG-4 AVC HD encoder, also launched at the European conference.

Tandberg also debuted its SD ICE platform at IBC, which includes the EN5930 MPEG-4 AVC video encoder and the EN5920 encoder for Windows Media 9.

Also launched at IBC was Tandberg's digital ENG tool for wireless cameras. The new very low delay (VLD) digital wireless camera transmitter combines COFDM modulation with remote synchronization and MPEG-4 compression. The 950g camera provides RF output between 2.2 - 2.6 GHz.
